Club Winter 2010 - Conditions:
INSWIM’s Club Championships
* Begin March 13 and run for 3 Friday nights
* check Club whiteboard for eligibility refer to Club program p.17 for rules of entry. You must have swum at least 50% of club nights to compete. YOU CAN SWIM AS AN INVITATIONAL SWIMMER IF YOU HAVEN’T QUALIFIED HOWEVER, NO POINTS WILL BE GIVEN AND YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR INCLUSION IN AGE CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS. Write ‘invitational’ on the top of the envelope.
* payment for age championship swims - $2 per night for 5-7yr olds, $4 per night for 8yrs+ for each Friday night (p.12 Club program) PLEASE NOTE THE ERROR LAST NEWSLETTER STATING PER SWIM. THE AMOUNT IS PER NIGHT.
* complete the envelopes as usual with the champ event recorded and money accompanied by the Wed before the Friday.
NB these are events where swimmers swim against members of the same sex and age for points in order of finishing.
1. CLUB NIGHT QUALIFYING TIMES
For the purpose of encouraging and promoting our swimmers, a swimmer will need to achieve qualifying times (up times) to swim up an event (i.e. if your child swims 25 metre events and wants to swim 50 metre events the child must have achieved the 50m qualifying time in that stroke.
The same is for swimmers wanting to swim in 100m events (other than Individual Medley).
For all 200m events or above (other than I.M.) the swimmer must have achieved the 100m qualifying time in that stroke.

2. The Summer Point score, Open and Age Championship will be conducted under the One Start Rule.
3. Point score and Championship events will be conducted under the rules of N.S.W.A.S.A. Inc.
4. The Meet Director reserves the right to amend this program without prior notice.
5. Entry fee of $3.00 per swimmer plus 20 cents for club multi - entry race envelope for summer point score competition payable by submitting entries no later than 6.00pm Wednesday evening prior to that Friday Club Night.
6. Only 1 (one) swimmer per envelope, and entries received later than Wednesday may not be seeded according to the swimmer’s entry time.
7. Entry fee for age and open championships is $2.00 per race. Plus 20 cents for one club multi entry race envelope.
8. A maximum of 3 (three) swims and a minimum of 2 swims per Club night must be swum plus an open championship will be accepted. Age championships are excluded and a swimmer may enter as many events in their age that are available on the night.
9. Own choice events on club nights will attract 1 point only, and shall contribute to 100% attendance requirements.
10. Swimmers who have qualified for 100m events and swim 25m events will receive 1 point for completing the race only. No points will be awarded for bettering a 25m time if the swimmer has previously qualified for a 100m race of that stroke.
11. Events marshalled will be announced over the P.A. System or by marshalling signage at the change room end of the pool. Swimmers who are not in the marshalling area when their name is called out may be withdrawn from the event.
12. Pool misbehavior may also result in disqualification.
13. Children are allowed out the back area of the swimming complex (grass area near car park). Children must be under Parental Supervision.
14. All due care is taken for your safety whilst in the swimming complex. Please abide by all Inswim Pty. Ltd. safety rules.
15. Only Inswim Swimming Club members that have completed 50% of Club night (point score) are eligible for prizes.
16. Own Choice event during Age Championships is a Non Championship event.
To Enter the 800m Freestyle, a 400m freestyle qualifying time of 6.00 min needs to be obtained from Week 2, Event 1.
Development and Elite Swimmers:
1. Swimmers cannot swim in the same stroke more than once per Club Night, Unless swimming an Own Choice event or Long Distance Events.
2. No attendance is recorded and no points will be awarded on a Club Night unless all compulsory swims are completed, except where the injury / illness occurs during the Club Night and is reported to the Coach / Office Bearer and permission is obtained not to swim the remaining events.
3. Attendance will be recorded where a swimmer does not attend a Club Night due to a commitment to swim at a Club approved meet on the following day only where permission not to attend the Club Night is obtained from an Office Bearer, except for Metropolitan, State or National meets where automatic exemption is granted for the swimmers with race commitments on the day following Club Night.
4. The following point score applies to each event:

commencement of Club Championship and in accordance with Clauses 2 and 3 of 100% attendance.
1. Rule 5 will be waived for swimmers unable to meet the eligibility requirements due to AIS, Australian or State representative commitments.
2. The Club Champion in each age group for each of boys and girls will be the swimmer in that age group awarded the most points from club championship events using the following point score basis for each event:

100% Attendance:
1. There will be an award presented to all swimmers who attain 100% attendance during the point score competition.
2. To qualify, swimmers must have swum a minimum of 2 (two) swims per Club Night.
3. For the purpose of Club Championships only, where a swimmer is unable to attend due to illness, attendance will only be recorded if the Management Committee receives a Doctors' Certificate within 14 days of the non - attendance.
Starting Instructions: Relax; now that you can fill out a Club race entry card, the rest is not so bad.
1. All Club race events will be conducted under the NSW Swimming Assoc. "One Start Rule".
2. After assembly at the back of the starting wall, on the long whistle from the club's appointed referee, the swimmers shall step onto the starting platform or wall and remain there, or for backstroke swimming and Medley Relays, immediately enter the water. A second long whistle shall bring the swimmers immediately to the starting position.
3. On the Starters command "Take your Marks" competitors will immediately take up their starting positions with at least one foot at the front of the starting platform or wall, and in the case of backstroke event, their position in the water, and remain stationary.
4. When all competitors are stationary, the starter shall give the starting signal (by either pistol shot, hooter, whistle or command).
5. Any swimmer starting before the starting signal has been given shall be disqualified. If the starting signal sounds before the disqualification is declared, the race shall continue and the swimmer(s) shall be disqualified upon completion of the race. If the disqualification is declared before the starting signal, the signal shall not be given, but the remaining swimmers shall be called back, be reminded by the starter of the penalties, and start again.
6. Competitors must finish in the lanes that they start and will remain in the water in their lanes at the finish of the event. On the signal from the Club appointed Referee, competitors are to leave the pool.
7. In an Individual Medley event the sequence of strokes is Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Freestyle. In a Teams Medley event, the sequence of strokes is Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly and Freestyle.
National Championships - Eligibility for Funding:
All swimmers achieving the qualifying standard and who are competing are eligible to be subsidized for the entry fee for the events entered. However, the following requirements must be met:
1.1 The swimmer must place the event card & the applicable entry fee in an envelope & place it in the Club entry box no less than seven (7) days prior to the closing date for Swimming NSW for that meet, unless other arrangements have been made with the Club Race Secretary.
1.2 At the Club Night or meeting after the receipt of the official results of that meet, the entry fees for the applicable events will be refunded to the swimmer for the races actually swum. For the races not swum, no refund will be available.
2. Subsidies for travel & accommodation will not be available for National Age or National Open events which are held in Sydney.
3. Eligibility for subsidies for other expenses (e.g. air fares, accommodation etc.) for swimmers achieving qualifying times will be as follows:
3.1 Swimmers must apply for subsidy on the ‘National Funding Application Form’.
3.2 The swimmer & parent/guardian must have actively participated in Club activities and/or fundraising.
3.3 The swimmer must have achieved no less than 80% of the Club Nights for the two (2) preceeding swimming seasons in accordance with the Inswim Swimming Club 100% attendance rule.
3.4 Adult members of Inswim SC may apply to be team manager the successful applicant can apply for funding, the level of which will be determined by the Executive.
3.5 Eligibility for funding for the Coach/Coaches & Team Manager will be solely at the discretion of the Executive Committee.
3.6 All sponsorship for swimmers must be made through the Club - either funding or otherwise any external sponsorship for the meet which is not made through the Club will render the swimmer ineligible for Club funding for that meet.
3.7 The Executive Committee has the power to refuse subsidy for any swimmer for the following reasons:
3.7.1 The conduct of that swimmer and/or the parent/guardian has been less than satisfactory on Club Nights or at any swimming meet.
3.7.2 If the swimmer under the advice of the Club Coach is deemed to be unfit and unable to achieve the qualifying standard at the meet.
3.8 The Executive committee may refuse funding on the following grounds :
3.8.1 The Coach or team manager reports the misconduct or non-sportsperson like behaviour of the swimmer or the parent/guardian at that meet.
3.8.2 The swimmer does not travel with the team at all times (unless otherwise agreed to by the Coach/& or team Manager).
3.9 The swimmer’s parent/guardian must sign the National Funding Application Form.
Cumberland, Metropolitan and State Meet Subsidies:
The following is considered a guide only for complete details contact the executive committee.
Eligibility:
1. Swimmer is be a fully financial and first claim member of the Inswim SC for at least 12 months prior to the applicable meet.
2. At least one parent or guardian of the swimmer is to be a fully financial member of Inswim SC.
3. Swimmer to be considered fit and able to compete by the Club Coach.
4. Swimmer to have no less than 50% attendance rate at the available Inswim SC Club Nights in that season, one week prior to the applicable meet in accordance to the 100% attendance rule.
5. The executive has the right of refusal of any eligible swimmer due to past conduct.
Cumberland Championships:
1. A maximum of 5 events per swimmer swum at each Cumberland Championship will be fully subsidised by the Inswim SC.
2. If a swimmer does not attend the Meet, then no subsidy shall be returned.
Metropolitan Championships:
1. A maximum of 6 events per swimmer swum at each Metropolitan Championship will be fully subsidised by the Inswim SC.
2. In the event of the swimmer making a final and the swimmer withdrawing, the Club Coach will then have the power of decision in terms of subsidy for that event.
3. If a swimmer does not attend the Meet, then no subsidy shall be returned.
State Championships:
1. A maximum of 6 events per swimmer swum at each State Championship will be fully subsidised by the Inswim SC.
2. In the event of the swimmer making a final and the swimmer withdrawing, the Club Coach will then have the power of decision in terms of subsidy for that event.
3. If a swimmer does not attend the Meet, then no subsidy shall be returned.
Swim Meet Entries:
1. All decisions on funding of Swimming Meets will always be dependant on Inswim SC available and budgeted funds.
2. For all meets which the Inswim SC deems that entry subsidy to swimming meets is available and applicable, all entries are to be paid by the swimmer on submitting entry cards to the race secretary by the applicable due date of that meet.
3. All or any subsidy will be paid at the completion of the swimming season
4. In the event where the swimmer attends more than one of the below meets in one calendar year, the swimmer can be eligible for funding for all of those meets (ie Winter Metropolitan and Summer Metropolitan, National Age, Summer National Open, Winter National Open).
General
1. The Executive of the Inswim Swimming Club Inc has the right to amend any or all of the Subsidy Plan as it sees fit.
2. The Subsidy Plan is to give direction and allow for budgeting needs.
